They’re also the headings for the Titan, OceanGate Expeditions submersible, before it tragically imploded on Monday earlier this week. In a world where a Zuck v. Created by Stan Lee, the famous Marvel brand of superheroes is now the world’s highest-grossing movie franchise, totaling $28.5B earned over 32 films. The franchise has some of the most fanatical followers you’ll find, but “Secret Invasion,” Marvel’s latest release, has fans furious. Why? Because AI generated the footage for the opening credits.
Creators aren’t happy about it either, with Marvel comic artist Christian Ward tweeting, “For Marvel, whose whole empire is built on the work of artists, to do this is disgusting, and I for one, shan’t be watching.” Personally, I’m dubious as to whether or not Ward will or will not watch the series (intuition tells me curiosity will get the better of him), but the writing is on the wall - filmmakers and studios are more than willing to test the waters for mass adoption AI content. I feel this is only the beginning.

If you’re anything like me, then YouTube will be your first port of call. The stuff humans can learn from YouTube, is, well, basically limitless. But it’s not just humans learning anymore. The CMU Robotics Institute is using YouTube videos as teaching material for robots learning new tasks using the system “Vision-Robotics Bridge (VRB)”.
Assistant professor Deepak Pathak explains, “Robots can use this model to curiously explore the world around them. Instead of just flailing its arms, a robot can be more direct with how it interacts,” (after observing the task first via YouTube video).

If HD isn’t good enough for you, then perhaps images created by SDXL 0.9 will be. The program takes text-to-image to an entirely different level, with more intuitive prompts giving more realistic outputs. Some of the stuff is TRULY incredible - you should really take a look (if only to better understand how easy it is going to be to manipulate imagery in the present/near future).
